how did we sprout ?

Six years ago, our Director Emma was handed an opportunity of a lifetime, to takeover Peas in a Pod when the seeds had only just been planted. At the young age of nineteen, Emma worked tirelessly to build up a community of trust worthy and reliable sitters to support the busy Mums and Dads of Melbourne.

The Peas vision is to provide families with nannies and babysitters that slip seamlessly into their busy lives, finding that perfect match who feels apart of the family and who the kids can’t wait to see again! Over the past five years we have expanded more than ever expected, with a word-of-mouth built network of over 400 casual babysitters. The Peas community makes the world of Melbourne feel so small, we find all our families through referral and never seem to have more than one degree of separation between the team behind the scenes and the sitters we interview!

Speaking of the team… I am very proud to say that we are a team of five women, all have been nannies themselves working tirelessly behind the scenes to make these perfect matches. We have Grace Crighton, who joined us a few years ago, a star sitter who started as the babysitting manager and is now also our head of Operations! We Catherine Baker, who joined us mid 2022. she was brought on to help us manage the demand for nannies, creating pathways to find more sitters without compromising the community feel and referral process of the agency. Finally, Nat our Client Liaison, who comes to us with decades of experience under her belt and helps find Peas the absolute best families!

In 2023, we started operating our babysitting services in Sydney and continuing to support and service the beautiful families of Melbourne, we’re so conscious of the intimate relationship that exists between a family and their nanny. When the match is right, and the support of the agency is present, we build relationships that last.
