Meet a Star Sitter: This is Daisy!

Daisy is from a rural town on the border of Victoria and South Australia and has had an impressive eight years’ experience as a babysitter. She is currently studying Nursing at Monash University and in her free time is an avid baker and gardener. Daisy has such a clear passion for working with children and she intends to continue to work with young people in her career as a nurse. Here’s what she had to say about her work with Peas in a Pod!

How were you introduced to Peas in a Pod and what is your role? How long have you been working with your family?

I was introduced to Peas by Sophie Cachia who shared their Instagram! I have now been with Peas and my family for nearly two years and absolutely love it!

If you had full control in planning a day with the kids you nanny, what would you do?

In the morning we would start with some outside time, whether we go for a bike ride or go for a walk with the dog to the park. We then would do some baking and in the afternoon we do some crafts or movie time!

What’s something you do to go above and beyond for your nannying/sitting/tutoring family?

They know that they can call me anytime to come in for any hours!

What is something cute that the kids you look after have said?

“You are my favourite babysitter ever” or, “Can you move in with us?”

What do you find most rewarding about your job? What's something you've learnt through doing this job that you have been able to apply to other areas of your life?

I love the relationship I have been able to build with the kids and their parents! The most rewarding part is the smile you get from the kids EVERY TIME they see you, never gets old!

What/who inspired you to work with children? Why?

I love kids, I have always been a babysitter and it is a job I enjoy going to!

What is your favourite thing about Peas in a Pod?

How lovely the girls are! They are so supportive and always are there to help!

Do you have any tips for aspiring nannies/sitters/tutors?

Be patient in building a relationship with the kids, sometimes they can take a while to warm up to you, but once they do it’s so rewarding!
