Got a Work Event? Call PIAP

Earlier this year, PIAP was offered a very exciting short term sitter position that sparked a great opportunity to expand the scope of the agency’s services. Our owner Emma, was so excited about the opportunity that she decided to take on the position herself!

A single mum from Brisbane had a 4 day business conference with KPMG in Melbourne. Her two girls had never been to Melbourne and she thought this would be a great opportunity for an exciting adventure to see the city. The mother had heard about PIAP through local colleagues within the KPMG company who had experienced the great things PIAP is offering throughout Melbourne. Emma nannied the two girls for four days, 12 hours a day, taking them out to as many exciting activities she could squeeze in.

So how did they spend their time in Melbourne? Well, during their week in Melbourne, the Australian Open Tennis Tournament was on, so on their first day Emma took the girls to Melbourne Park. They got to watch a few matches and play on the adventure playground where the girls did some rock climbing and obstacle courses!

On their second day, Emma took the girls to see the free exhibitions on display at the National Gallery of Victoria. The girls were just in awe of the artworks they saw; they were especially excited about the William Wegman photography exhibition of dogs doing human-like things! After a picnic lunch in the botanical gardens, Emma took the girls to the Melbourne City Baths for a swim. Later that night, they wandered over to the KPMG building in the city to meet up with mum and see where she was working during the week; which the girls loved!

On their last 2 days, the girls made a trip to the Melbourne Zoo where they spent the day wandering around all the animal pens, walking through the butterfly enclosure, watching a dancing Corroboree frog, and riding on the carousel. They also squeezed in haircut appointments for the girls and a trip to the dentist to fix a sore tooth before spending their last afternoon by the beach in Brighton for an ice cream and a swim, looking for starfish, and admiring the beautiful colours of the beach boxes.

Emma raves about this unique experience with the girls and is excited to continue this type of nannying for more out of town families. She says;

“The great thing about PIAP is the fact that all of our sitters and nannies are local people, they’ve grown up in Melbourne and know all the ins and outs of the city. There is no better way for children to experience a new city than with someone who knows it well, and our sitters LOVE sharing Melbourne with their kids. This particular type of sitting allows children the unique and intimate experience of exploring an unknown city, and getting to know the history of all the fun places they visit.”
